Make a Good Choice

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

- Ephesians 2:17

We have a choice today. Right now.

It’s a choice we might not even realize we have. So often, we just go about our day, without even realizing the potential power in this choice.

Don’t get me wrong, our day may look every bit the same regardless of what choice we make. We still eat food and go places. We interact with people, go to work, and do things... all the same things. Either way, everything looks the same externally. But, this choice changes everything on the inside. Here it is:

What are we choosing to focus on?

It’s so important! Regardless of whether anyone else can know or see what’s going on inside of us, whether or not our days look essentially the same, this choice makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

For me, it’s the difference between inner turmoil and peace. I have to decide. Am I going to live under the tyranny of performance, perfectionism, and perception? OR, am I going to walk in the true peace of Jesus, a peace I cannot manufacture, a peace that is beyond understanding, a peace that isn’t dependent on circumstances.

This is a DAILY CHOICE. Today. Right now. And, again tomorrow. And, the day after that. And, let’s be real, it might just be an hourly choice!

But, what about you?

What would it look like if you actually chose to let Christ’s peace rule in your heart?

We all have a choice. Today. Right now.

So, I say to you, and my own heart this mom-worn phrase, “Make a good choice.”

How would your life look different on the inside if you made Jesus the focus?

How might being real and sharing your inner life with someone else help you stay on track?
