This world is constantly telling me that I am strong, I am an overcomer, I have all of the resources I need right inside of myself. Only I don’t. Sometimes I come up so short that I find myself broken beyond my own ability to do anything about it. And then what?
We all find ourselves at the bottom sometimes, but there is hope for the follower of Jesus. We aren’t told to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps, but to “stand firm in the faith”. And, what is our faith in? Someone infinitely strong, capable, compassionate and good. He is the one who lifts us up, brushes us off, and gives us courage and strength to carry on even in our hardest times.
