back to you
YOUR WORD IS A LAMP FOR MY FEET, A LIGHT ON MY PATH. — PSALM 119:105
You knew the darkness would fall,
As would we.
You warned, “Beware of dead ends,
Do not eat.”
Our way seemed right in our eyes,
Seemed better.
So, we chose to taste a bite.
‘Twas bitter.
Now, we know what we did not—
The difference.
Now, we strive and fret our way,
Through darkness.
Now, we grope along like beasts,
Without eyes.
Now, we make and shake our fists,
At the sky.
But you are still our Father—
Still in love.
You chase us far, now farther,
Not far off.
Your light behind casts shadows,
We walk in.
We hear you call and beckon,
“Please, return.”
Surely, our hearts long for home,
Long for you.
Your light—bright, warm on our backs,
Ever true,
Bids us turn and be restored,
Be made new.
Only you can guide our path,
Back to you.

Listen in as they share about their days of training together for the Olympic trials as pole vaulters, why Vera started writing Bible verses on her arm, and how the mental fortitude they developed in training has helped them replace lies with truth in their everyday lives.
