The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
-John 1:5
Bustle. Hustle. Presents. Cards. Lists. Expectations.
All of these things press in on us at Christmas. And, I write this in the middle of all my own holiday crazy at my own house. Even finding time to find time seems a stretch. And yet, I long for something different, something quiet and still. I long to sit in the dim light of my Christmas tree and wonder at the story of God breaking into our world. I need his light to shine in the dark corners of my own Christmas story, to redeem this season and give it purpose and hope, joy and peace. So, I ask you to join with me as we begin this season by choosing each day to focus on Jesus, the light of the world. Ask him to enlighten your day with his presence. Ask him to help you see what truly matters and let go of the little things that really don’t.
